✦ My Pen Friend Clara
My name is Kerem and I have a pen friend called Clara. She lives in Vienna, which is the capital city of Austria. Vienna is a beautiful city in central Europe. Clara is twelve years old, just like me. She has one sister and two brothers — so her family is quite big! Clara goes to a large school with over 800 students. Her favourite subjects are Music and Art. She plays the violin every day and she says it is her biggest hobby. She is also very good at drawing.
Clara and I write letters to each other every month. In her last letter, she told me about her daily routine. She wakes up at 7 o'clock, has breakfast with her family, and then walks to school. Her school starts at 8:30 and finishes at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. After school, she usually has violin practice for one hour. On weekends, she likes to visit museums with her parents and cycle in the park near her house. I think Clara has a very interesting life, and one day I hope to visit Vienna and meet her in person!

✦ Our Neighbourhood
My name is Elif and I live in a neighbourhood called Bağcılar in Istanbul. Our neighbourhood is very busy and lively. There are lots of shops, cafés, restaurants, and markets. In the centre of the neighbourhood, there is a large park called Gültepe Park. Families go there at weekends to have picnics, play games, and enjoy the fresh air. There is also a modern sports centre opposite the park. My friends and I often play basketball there in the evenings.
Near my house, there is a small shopping street with a bakery, a pharmacy, a hairdresser, and a bookshop. My favourite place on the street is the bakery because it always smells amazing! There is also a primary school and a middle school in our neighbourhood. The middle school is behind the park. The primary school is between the pharmacy and the bookshop. My grandmother lives in the apartment next to the bakery. She bakes the most delicious cakes! I love our neighbourhood because everyone is friendly and helpful. I feel safe and happy here every day.
